Forget about the second half of the OKC game.....Rockets showed in the first half, when focused (like in the playoffs), there is no better team in basketball. Add the likelihood of Morey acquiring a significant acquisition at the deadline and you have us moving past the Blazers and Spurs at a minimum. I am a pessimist by nature (especially with the Rockets), so this is a very difficult thread for me to write .
We'll know for sure once Lin can play his style of basketball.. pretty much impossible with Sampson and McHale around.
I know OP's post is gonna get bashed, but it is a nice to feel some optimism once in while! That being said, it isn't impossible that morey will work his magic again so lighten up! Nobody knows what's gonna happen in couple months and we, as rockets, fans, have to keep believing in our team! We're not the ones controlling the roster or the plays or the style so sometimes the best thing to do is sit back, watch the show, and hope for the best.

Morey went out and got Lin, Harden and Howard in the past year....why doubt his ability to get us another star at the trade deadline??? It is not in his blood (no matter what he says) to sit by and not be the star of the show at the trade deadline. Actions speak louder than words and history shows that you will see us active at the trade deadline. As far as coaching, if a cruddy coach like Spolstra can be going for his third title in a row, then McHale (subpar coach) can win one title with the right player mix supplied by Morey
To clarify, not saying we will win title with roster as is....saying that add someone like Melo for Asik, Lin & Jones and all of a sudden we are favorites. It is not inconceivable that a trade such as this will occur at the deadline. E Morey has stated recently that he is looking to add a star either this season or in the offseason. No need to doubt him based on his history of transactions.
We definitely have a nice talent pool to acquire another star but this team lacks so clearly in heart. I hope a transplant comes in and gives this team courage.

This. Once the oppressive are purged and the chosen one is set free, the league will never be the same. Franchises will fold knowing that as long as Lin is unshackled NO ONE stands a chance. It will be glorious.
