This is usually a useful skill if on the average night you are giving a good and efficient, 15-17 points, or whatever you give, but if a guy is giving his 15-17 points on low 50’s TS%, but he can explode for 30, well that is basically just Jamal Crawford. Not sure that really makes you good

No I am not being sarcastic. I think it was clear he was going to be giving a chance to start and if not he would be a bench player backing up the 4. If he doesn't like that role now then he should be given the boot. There are many issues with the team right now don't need outside drama from a bench player on Vet Min contract.
Not sure whether who is better in a general sense really matters. Carmelo is not better for the role that Ennis is playing. It’s tough to know what role Carmelo is good for at this stage of his career, that’s the problem. It’s hard to see what Western top team he can produce for if he can’t be a guy that plays off other guys or who can defend. It’s just Father Time.

Yea, but with a butterfly effect, how is he affecting the outcomes both offensively and defensively from games 1-6 and do you even get to game 7 for him to be able to score that 30 points? Then of course you have to ask how realistic is it that in the playoffs Melo is going to drop an efficient 30 points for you in game 7? He didn't even get more than 17 points for OKC in the playoffs, and it took 18 FGA
The only way he would be able to score that much at this stage of his career would be shooting 40-50 shots and he's too out of shape to even shoot that much without losing his breath. Drop his ass and just let him retire into obscurity. He's already destroyed his own legacy with his ego.
