Actually, I believe the Rockets waived Lin and then hoped to get him back after he cleared waivers. So it's not that the Rockets didn't want Lin. They were just hoping everything would work out for them.
I believe that was the case with GSW. GSW hoped he would clear waivers so they could get him back. Not sure if that's the case with the Rockets, too. There was no way he was clearing waivers. If NYK waived him, as some expected prior to his breakout, I think BOS would have been next up to pick him up. BOS kept an eye on him the entire time due to the fact that Jeremy was a local celebrity from his Harvard days in Boston, and they wanted him to back up Rondo. He would have gone GSW>HOU>NYK>BOS without ever clearing waivers. He has too much talent to clear waivers.
NY was going to waive him even after the breakout New Jersey game - IF MIKE JAMES was available. At least that is how the story goes. My eyes tell me that Mike James is better than Lin.
Mike James, there's another ex-Rocket that deserves more respect from Houston fans than Tracy McGrady.
people should really look at the date that a thread was started before posting. there's no way in heo they're going to waive Lin on Christmas again
tyty It's just a lil stress relief from the aggravation of having to defend undeserving Rockets who get thrown under the bus, every time Lin has a bad game. These few (that make LOFs look bad) can get on anyone's nerves.
