Umm. Francis never learned how to run a pick and roll. It was always pick and shoot or pick and drive. It was never ran to setup for his teammates.
You must just play video games and look at his rating on 2k. Lin is one of the better stealing and shot blocking PGs plus he is great at getting to the basket and drawing fouls. He could be a good back-up much like Dragic.
Tough time to effect a deal especially when Howard will hold NBA hostage ala Melo last year, and with Brooks breaking...either Lakes make a preemptive move or dealing is not wheeling until near the deadline (when in March is that exactly?).
Lin is more of a undersized SG than he is pure PG. One of the reasons he didn't get much time with the GSW was that he had trouble running an offense. Even his short time here, you saw Flynn at the 1, while Lin was at the 2. All the positives you hear about Lin are his intagibles, not necessarily his PG skills like court vision, passing, play-making, ect.
I agree, Lin appeared to a very resourceful player that just seemed to make things happen, would have been a great reserve.
Combo guard is already filled by Courtney Lee, and Dragic can swing at times to the 2 which I'm seeing McHale doing. Morey could not swing a minor trade to alleviate the backcourt log jam among the guaranteed contracts, so Lin is the obvious cut.
Good foresight "bloop", smart clutchfans member. It happened just as that. Someone else let Lin develop, and the Rockets picked him up right after.
