Here's my story from going to the Rockets an Bucks game tonight...

I'm standing and cheering with ~2 minutes left in a close game. Dude (sitting with his wife and 2 kids in the row behind me) tells me to sit down.

I turn around to make sure he's talking to me. We make eye contact and I scoff at him as he scowls at me. He tells me to sit down again. I turn around and tell him to stand up if he's rooting for the Rockets. He tells me not to be an "a**hole". I tell him to stand up if he's "rooting for the f***ing rockets." He tells me to "watch my f***ing mouth." Funny right?

He proceeds to argue with me more, putting his hands on me twice, pushing me away from him without me approaching him first. Then I popped his glasses and hat off his head (without actually touching him).

Shortly after, cops questioned me. I told them what happened and they told us to part ways -- end of story.

Boring ending -- I know. I got to watch time expire from the concourse while this dude was chatting it up with cops...he obviously didn't care about the game. Standard lower bowl crowd I guess...

I know I let things escalate too far, but this dude was a douche right? With 2 minutes left, you should be standing and cheering and there is nothing wrong with that. Can't believe a fan would tell another fan to sit down.

Awful fans. Next time, don't bother getting into it. They have absolutely no right to tell you to sit down. Although the sad thing about our arena is, if you get the ushers involved (as you should), they might tell you to sit down as well. Only in Toyota Center...I wish we would fix this garbage.

Sitting down does not make you less of a fan. When i go to games i cheer my ass off and stand during important possessions. But i'm also aware of people around me and understand that some people may not be able to constantly stand.

I'm not gonna ruin someone's experience because my head is too far up my ass.

This, if it were just him, different story, but family takes precedence.

It's fine to cheer your ass off for our guys but if you're blocking my family's view of the game I would have told you the same thing. If you want to be inconsiderate then everyone else loses. If you want to be cool about it then everyone wins.

Did I not mention it was the last 2 minutes of the game!?!?!

As a 6'4" dude, I am all too aware of my size and the good/bad that comes with it. I'm not trying to ruin anybody's experience. They didn't complain any other time I stood up to cheer. They aren't sitting in the cheap seats either. Stand up and cheer at the end of the game. If you aren't gonna do that, don't complain when others do.

Any decent crowd stands for at least the last two minutes of a close game! If that bothers you, then stay home . . .

A few bad apples always spoil the bunch. I can understand if you were standing for extended parts of the game, but you should be standing in the final two minutes of a tight game. Lower bowl fans aren't fans, they are spectators.

If you don't want someone that might stand in front of you, buy court side seats

If you go to a sporting event you should expect that some fans are going to stand and cheer at certain parts of the game.

This is like going to a strip club and complaining there's too much nudity.

At certain venues some things should be expected. If you don't want to deal with that, don't go. But other people shouldn't have to bend to your abnormal demands when they are doing what is otherwise normal behavior in that venue.

I agree. I think fans should stand in the last few minutes of the game specially if it's a blow or a a close game.

As long as you were not being a jerk during the game then I don't think it's a big deal.

If the dad explained to you that his kids couldn't see over you, then that's one thing... but if someone is going to go around barking orders at you... I say F him. An adult man should have known demanding another Adult man what to do would spark a reaction... An with his kids sitting right there, that's just dumb and unsafe.

Something's fishy, were there no empty seats around you...at a Bucks game?

Not saying you should have moved, but it definitely shouldn't have escalated to the level it did
