OKC lives off turning over other teams, to ignite their fastbreak. Its how they beat the Spurs in the playoffs last year, If Lin is shaky with ball Mchale will yank him and sub in Bev in a heartbeat The Knicks have the lowest turnover rate in the NBA, but when they had a lapse and made the mistake of turning the basketball over, the Thunder capitalized on them and burst into their fast break in a second <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/5TRgJndhh6Y" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> That first turnover in the video above is what scares me, because Harden and Lin like to try and split double teams a lot, againist OKC that wont work I think McHale and Scott Brooks are kinda even as far as coaching, its just OKC has WAY more talent I believe we have the talent to push OKC to 7 games, but only if we limit our turnovers to around 7 or 8 a game. As much as I hate to say this I also believe in this series Lin must play the PG position and not be a spot up shooter( I hate that im sounding like a LOF, but thats the only way we will have a chance). Harden must somehow learn how to play off the ball, and have Thabo chase him around( no iso ball). Harden ISO ball wont work because the Thunder has so much length and are so athletic they can deflect passes, and force bad shots.
This. No other thing in this series will be a bigger reason that we lose than the talent disparity. Of course this will all be forgotten and all the blame will fall on Harden, McHale and Lin.
It could be said for the OKC also, they must cut down on their turnovers. It will come down to the basics of executing on O and playing tough D.
On the list of things to worry about I'm glad your awesome basketball insight found this to be #1. SOA outdoing all others.
As long as our young guys can learn from this experience it'll be worth it. OKC is a far superior team at this point.
As long as we recover our ball movement and flow and not do too much iso's, I'll be happy. Harden should relax and not try too hard. We don't expect to win.
TO is actually the top concern against OKC. What we do well they do even much better. What we don't do well they even excel at. Just go out compete. That's all.
