KJ is young and athletic and defends and tries and is cheap and has upside.

Explain to me why he is on the block...

I don't think that Noel is much of a prospect.

    Tell it.

The truth is Philly wants to keep Noel and trade Okafor for Dunn or Murray. But they can't get any traction on a deal for Okafor. Nobody wants to give a top pick for him. The problem with trading Noel is he's one year away from getting paid and he's got some character issues. He's in demand but teams want to get him for a late lottery pick or even lower picks. None of that helps Philly get up high enough to grab Dunn or Murray.

You can be assured that if Boston was really willing to do #3 for Noel that deal would already have been done. Boston ideally wants one of Dunn/Murray AMC then deal done combination of Smart and others for Noel.

Everybody is truly to maximize asset value right now. I suspect Philly is going to have to give a little more than they want to or take back a little less than they want to to get out of their big man dilemma.

Exactly. The current roster sucks. More to the point, it doesn't work with the new coach (and scheme) being brought in. We can struggle with the previous roster, or can struggle with a new roster that will hopefully get us to where we need to be the following year. I'd prefer the latter...

45 million sounds like a lot, but it isn't.

    Ariza + Pat = 13 - Noel = 7...+ 45 = 52...

Durant and Horford max is 52, here we go baby!!!

Yeah, that'd be a total Leslie move.

so a guy who's only played two years in the league, and last year averaged 14 and 10 per 36 with 2 blocks and 2 steals and defends at a pretty high level ...will never be an all star? Even though it always takes bigs a little longer to develop?

Man, take that clairvoyance to wall street and get yourself paid bra!

    yes.
Teams don't scout against them and dont' take them seriously or prepare.

But on the other hand ..how would Capela's stats be like if
    a) instead of being the backup he actually started and played more minutes (probably would have foul out by the first half)
    b) was forced to play out of position next to a defensive sieve that is okafor
    c) had NO pg or playmaker at all in his team to play pnr with him or even to penetrate.

No coincidence that after Ish Smith came back Noel's perfomance and stats risen again.
Now someone tell me how Capela would do in Philly's roster for the first half of the season and how his development would be like.

I do think he can be an all-star. I see him as the next Deandre Jordan.

I also think that the plus side of Nerlens (as opposed to Dwight) is that he will never, ever, demand the ball and never be upset he doesn't get touches.

He's the perfect fit for the Rockets, a team full of shoot first players. He's what I wanted Dwight to be, but people kept telling Dwight he was The Dream when he was washed up.

I like Capela, and he was (for this season at least) my favorite player besides Bev. I love guys that play defense and do the little things, and Nerlens is that guy.

    Can't shoot? Isn't a good ball handler?

He's like a good defensive shortstop who can't hit in a lineup filled with bad hitters.

    Hey guys,

Instead of all this... we can keep Bev and Ariza and be mediocre next year!

    Sounds great!

Maury is the reason we need to hit reset but you ok with him failing and getting no accountability. Just keep firing away morey, correct?

That hypocrisy is why this city hasnt and never will again have a win. Organizational cancers like morey sticking around and an owner whose lost his way.

The fan base eats it up, the offseason noise is maurys specialty with jack squat annual results in the season. Simple fans.

Noel is a slightly better version of Capela IMO. The grass isn't always greener on the other side.

He may be the fastest center end-to-end in the Association. MDA loves him.
