Rockets turned down Taj for Bev, that's when Thunder got involved right? Not the big I was hoping for, but on to the next deal. Let's sign Larry Sanders (or Ajinca/Bogut if bought out) and Raphiael Putney to back up 3 and 4. Let's go Morey!!
" Epic disappointment " ? A let down maybe yes but epic? I'm sure you know what the Rockets were trying to do but I think the Rockets did well for themselves.
I am ok with all of these, both Enis and KJ were never going to fit....clearing cap room mid season is a new thing, but kinda cool. DD
Gibson is a good player but he would've been just a rental, no way we would've resigned him this summer, McDermott on the other hand would've been interesting...
There was no scenario where KJ was going to help win a title this year, and the scenario where he signs with us long-term was virtually nonexistent after getting deep-benched, so there was no particular reason to keep him around. Team-friendly contract ensured that we didn't have to pay someone to take him. Overall, I'm fine with this.
Too bad we couldn't get anything at all for KJ. He's got some talent for sure, but we're just not the team for him to show it. We still need a center, hopefully our radar gets a signal soon.
Said when he signed it was a waste. Dude cannot shoot and he is playing back-up to Harden. Glad he is gone.
I thought so too but Beverley is so well liked and is a big part of our current success, so I see that the FO values him more than I thought they would.
Bev has 2 more years after this year for a total of 10.5mil on his contract. That's essentially a rookie deal for a quality starting point guard. Gibson's contract is expiring after this season.
Yeah, disappointing to not get another contributing player. I am guessing the Rockets were after Taj Gibson. He would have been a great addition in many ways. OKC made a great trade. I don't know what the Bulls are doing.
