IMO there's no difference between Gerald and Iman, both have been causing us huge problems and neither of them brings their best work often enough for it to be in a regular rotation. As of last game I'd prefer Green, but that changes game to game. Difference being Shumpert has a higher ceiling, can fill a role we're more desperate for and is a contract decision this off-season. We know what Green can do so we have that in the bag for the playoffs and we'll re sign him for the minimum this summer. That's why he's a perfect insurance player, brings all that heart and can fill in for situations like this. Clark/Faried I would definitely slip into the rotation now. What better way to prepare Clark for a possible bench role than to play him 15 minutes right now while the team is humming? Ultimately I agree it's unlikely but I wish they would. If he had gone 3 of 4 instead of 1 of 4 the other night I feel like he would've had a chance.
Fair enough, even if it seems like he's still not fitting that well Iman is obviously the better defender, on the other hand Gerald is the better shooter and will give you some big shots here and there so, i think it's fair to take one or another, personally i'd still go with Gerald if i have to make a choice cause i feel like in some games when he gets hot and scores those 3/4 3s that really helps our bench, but like i said it's just a personal preference. As for Clark i agree, would've loved to see him more this season overall, also cause he's basically the only true 4 we have outside of PJ (if we consider him a true 4) but eh, i'm pretty sure he'll be part of the rotation next season.
Excited about Clark's future too. He seems to have that Battier/Tucker type attitude and work ethic and is a rookie in a great environment for learning. At 6'8, 230lbs (with a 6'10 wingspan) he has decent size for a PF. His shot doesn't look that far off, wouldn't be surprised if he's already a good shooter and defender by next season.
Just hold it right there! Can you say Landry Shamet? Caleb Swanigan? Furkan Korkmaz? Nikola Malutinov? PJ Hairston? Andre Roberson? Miles Plumlee? Jordan Hamilton? Quincy Pondexter? Those precious 26s. . . .
I cringe every time I see Shumpert in the game. His defense vastly overrated and his offense is non-existent which allows the defenders to double team guys like Harden, Paul, and EG
