Bingo and I would add the Shump will be better with Cp3 and Tucker with Harden. Shump needs that ball to move a little more Tucker cannot hit any shots right now he missed some threes that would have crushed OKC
Shumpert's biggest flaw his whole career is he is an inefficient scorer. His ts% is below 50% most years which is awful. However, he is not a terrible 3 point shooter nor does he finish poorly at the rim. The reason for his inefficiency is that 20% of his shots are long 2s. Its going to be interesting to see how efficient he ends up in the Rockets system once those shots are taken out. As for his defense, I'm not going to make judgments off his first game in a new system. But, just physically, as much as people here have questioned his size, he did not look overmatched standing next to Paul George, who is a prototypical SF.
He is no scorer at all. He'll have his 20 pt games with Sactown but with the shots and touches Harden, Gordon, even Faried have been taking, he won't get there.
Not to mention he is a nightmare when putting the ball on the floor too much, but the way we run our offense will minimize that dramatically. He will rarely ever have the opportunity to do that and he'll be better for it.
Defensive Ace. Gotta start him with PJ, and get House back in here so we can start switching EVERYTHING again.
One thing I was struck by, watching Shumpert’s on-ball defense: the aggressive footwork, the swiping hands. You know who he reminds me of? Chris Paul. A taller Chris Paul.
I like his quick trigger and great defense. He will be streaky on 3pointers though - like everybody who release bal after jumping up so strong
Temple is a respectable defender himself and you get a rotational big and good rebounder in JaMychal. Temple's Offense is even better at times than Shumps'. Clips got a good package for a mediocre Bradley.
Shumpert's not as good a 3-pt shot as Ennis, but Ennis wasn't that great to begin with. And Shump's a MUCH better defender, which is what this team needs. Our offense sputters at times, but it's still among the best in the league. The defense needs all the help it can get. Another difference between Shumpert and Ennis: Shump looks coordinated, instead of looking like he just learned to play basketball last week.
Aside from 3pt FG%.....another aspect is Shumpert provides spacing via gravity. Defenses respect his shooting. Whereas that was not the case with Ennis. And this there was crowding and shading. These things matter but sometimes get lost.
I mean, we'll see. The Warriors certainly didn't respect his shooting against the Cavs. There's a rumor Ty Lue was caught mouthing "Can't play shump!" before Billy Donovan said it about Kanter. (joking) If he shoots like junk they will just play off him like they did in the past and he'll be unplayable for us. Remember in past years when we pursued him this board collectively responded with a "vomit" in the threads.
