Did this guy tell NY Times that he is not interested in back up Lin for long, cus he is better than Lin? such attitude of a undrafted...
Good signing from the looks of it. Hope he's ok being back-up for this season (and beyond most likely) though. No grumbling about PT. I like his confidence, though there is a thin line between confidence and arrogance.
Exactly. Classic Morey deal where he structures 2nd and 3rd years to probably be fully ungauranteed, but yet there they are in our favour should we need them.
But Ish Smith was special. He wasn't cocky and all of himself. He went out there and did what his coaches wanted him to do.
Good player? excuse me? The dude sucked it hard in the SL against scrubs and rookies trying not to get injured. If he was WORTH it, the Rockets would have given him a full deal. He aint, he is here for the slight chance he finds a way to improve.... And who gives a damn if he is a "good guy"? So if he was a "gangsta" is he less deserving?
The best strategy to attract eyeballs and shout out your confidence is to use Lin's name a la Obama. Nothing wrong and the strategy actually works.
A good player should be a good team player too. What he told NY Times was not a good sign of a team player. Being arrogant is not being confident.
In order for it to be a "poison pill", similar to the Knicks, the Rockets would have to be over the luxury tax line. Another team under the cap would have to also have an offer to Scott to sign. The difference now though is that the Rockets would also have full-bird rights assuming that he's still kept during those 3 years. By year 3, it would also probably give the Rockets a good indication of what they think of Scott.
Yes. "Gangstas" do not deserve money for playing a game. But fortunately, it's Morey's job to find the best players no matter what, so we can field a competitive team.
