He looked pretty decent tonight. Fantastic feet on defense. Truthfully, I liked him a lot. If we can get Nunnally and House locked up I would be thrilled.
Nunally looked good considering the situation we out him in . Not many guys can come in off the street and play well for 25 minutes without having a single practice first .
He's clearly got a 3 point shot but he made some bone headed plays tonight (questionable BBIQ) and is mediocre on defense. House is clearly the better player.
So whats gonna happen after his 10 days are up, sign another player for 10 days !!! P.S for some reason I think his game is very similar to Jordie Meeks
What?? Give him a 2nd 10 day of course!! It is a power play on DanUel. "Look Dan, you are our RFA at seasons end and we love you and want to keep you. But we don't think you're irreplaceable by another role player. If you get a better offer in RFA then we were wrong and we'll match of course. But we think this is what you're worth. By the way, James Nunnally is on his 2nd 10 day and time is running out for you to play this season. We'll sign him till seasons end at the end of the 2nd 10 day and then we don't have an option for you to take that contract offer that we made you. You know, that offer that is enormous compared to any money you ever made before!! C'mon DanUel, sign up"
I thought he looked a step slow on man defense but he was hustling. His shot looks smooth and NBA ready though. He was a bit lost out there so I’m curious to see him after he gets a little bit more time with the team.
After 10-days we run a battery of analytics on his play, and if he passes that, then we ask Harden if he likes him and wants him to stay; and if all is good, then we offer Nunnally a very team-friendly, non-guaranteed, 3yr vet min. If he refuses, we cut him, and sign another 10-day. Rinse and repeat with next up. Because, you know, if we only sign him to the rest of the year, and he crushes it in the playoffs, then he'll be a free agent and compete with Rivers for the MLE. We can't have players on this year's team who are worth the MLE, because we gotta think about the future. See, it's more important to worry about next year's playoff roster, than this year. We want good, but not too good. House is too good, for example.
not a bad game for a player who just got off the plane and forced right into a new team a few hours later. Hit his 3's, did get blown by a few times but it takes adjustments and there's potential for some minutes for him
House is better.... but James can be useful once he gets some practice under his belt.... he isn't that good defensively but that can be attributed to nerves. We are having a whole different convo if he doesnt make that stupid decision to drive instead of taking the wide open three.
Morey with the twitter "welcome post" for Nunnally. He almost always does this for new acquisitions. For the record, Morey NEVER did a "welcome post" for Knight or Chriss. Says A LOT.
