Hey, if Toronto could suck it up and pay tribute to Vince Carter, nothing wrong with the Rockets celebrating T-Mac a little.

He was not Hakeem, but he was still a very good player for this team.

    Good for him.

maybe he can talk about how he wishes he had a true big on his team or something.

Why couldn't they do it at the Blazers game that I'm going to?!!?! I'm sure like a lot of young Rockets fans here, T-Mac was the first Rocket that I idolized. I didn't necessarily know about his antics, because I just watched the games and (being 8-13 years old) I didn't know what a forum was! Anyways, T Mac will always hold a special place in my heart for turning me into the Rockets fanatic I am today.

Can't believe so many folks are crazy over a guy who never once won a playoff series with him as the 'leader' (or ever in his career for that fact) . It's sort of like parents going crazy over their kid getting the 8th place 'trophy'. Just goes to show you how crappy Rockets basketball was in the not so distant past. Biggest talent with the smallest heart...perhaps the biggest separation of those 2 in the history of the game?

I don't think there is much to understand here. The bitter guys are those who absorb opinions from this forum all day.

I mean T-Mac always delivered ín the Playoffs and took his game to another level posting historically great numbers. When Yao went down in 08?(I think) he decided to play through a shoulder and knee injury as the clear underdog. His desire to win was there, but it was his downfall as he never recovered fully from his knee injury again. This no heart stuff is overplayed.

And I watched the Toronto Game. The only thing I saw was a broken down and frustrated player realizing that he sucks now. T-Mac didn't have the personality to handle the fact that he was no more his dominant self.

Harden on the other hand is a certified scrub in the Playoffs and half assed his defensive play until before this season, but gets glorified for his heart etc.
Not taking away anything from the Beard though as I believe that he will lead us to a title as long as Dwight stays healthy.

Chill out, they are just saying thanks, not crowning him MVP. It is more like parents giving their kid a Christmas present. You can still do that even if they are only 8th place.
