My question is why OP would reveal both the insider info and his identity. The guy he had lunch with can easily identify him if this thread ever reaches him. Is this a deliberate leak of info by the organization? If not, there might be no more insider lunches for OP in the future.
Yeah, let's not make this one of those annoying inquisition is he legit or not threads. If you think he is legit, appreciate it, read it, ask questions, etc. If you don't ignore the thread and block him if you want. I think what he says makes sense and gives some insight on the team's thinking we would not otherwise get. I say, sincerely cool and interesting story bro.
I think this is bull crap. You just said a lot of stuff that is easy to speculate about, and has a fair chance of happening. Going after Smith/Millsap? Common chatter at clutchfans Rockets want a backup for Harden? Well duh! Rockets high on D-Mo? Everyone knows this Traded PPat before he became a free agent. We knew this already. TRob might pan out, he may be a flop. No news here. Garcia provides leadership. Great, whatever. Not sold on Smith. We know this. Rockets like Parsons. Not shocking.
So Morey was flat out lying when he specifically said they were not going to do that? Beyond that, I hope the Rockets are not stupid enough to give Parsons the chance to Boozer them.
Redoing Parson's contract would be the right thing. He is criminally underpaid and we should lock him up.
So what is their plan with cap space usuage? Will they sit on it if they can't get Milsap or Smith. Would they use it all on two guys maybe (Mayo + Milsap?). Or is it better to wait and try to try again next off season for Bosh, etc? Seems pretty clear they want another MAJOR piece. Have they given up on Howard?
No, you said he was about to get paid. Which he can't until after the 2013-2014 (and probably won't then). You are simply wrong.
^ not necessarily If his deal is not guaranteed next year, they could probably just waive him and redo the deal to something more reasonable. This offseason could mean "about too" I think the organization would love to tie Parsons up to a long term deal if it is reasonable. That kid is really really good and probably hasn't topped out.
Can't happen this off season. Also if the Rockets renegotiated in 2014-2015 it would mean they failed to get Smith or Millsap. So really the earliest he would 'get paid' is after his contract expires (after 2014-2015 season).
There is no way that works, because there is no way parsons would clear the waivers. Every single team would put in a bid to pick him up.
That's what I don't get... Even on the Asik thread, he said he got a text from Morey saying the offer wouldn't be matched. Now if you were Morey and texted someone to let him know... would you like to see that same person post it on the internet?? Still, as others have said, it's up to each of us to believe what the OP said or not. I choose not to, but if others want to believe it, have fun!
