I saw this comment on a YouTube video of Royce White and couldn't have said it better myself: "Royce White is like Lebron without the freakish athleticism but with anxiety issues. So he's basically the grown son of Delonte West and Gloria James."
His shooting touch will improve with practice. His form/stroke is legit. He can grab rebounds and play great defense!
I think to best way take advantage of Royce White's talent is to keep him as a SF. With his ability to create plays in combination with his physicality and athletic ability could make him a special player down the road.
I LOVE Royce White as a player, but he's a bad fit for the Rockets as is. Where is he going to get playing time at is another concern? He was a better fit for the Hawks or Warriors.
He needs to work non-stop on his shot if he's gonna be primarily a SF. I think he has great potential at both positions. He's too strong for SFs to guard, too quick for most PFs. Plus he rebounds like a monster and can handle the ball like a guard. Real tough in the post.
The rumor is (or was) that he would be traded. I hope the Rockets keep him and trade one of our other forwards.
I think his shot will improve and his rebounding is good. My concern is that bigger PF's will punish him on defense. His best skill is his passing. He seems like a hard worker, who can improve.
