Your assessment is spot on except for Covington

Can't understand why he's not called for the Rockets. He could help our short roster.

Would be great to get him time now with Anderson out and 3rd seed locked up. Put Dekker at 4 and let him run 3 with the second unit.

Okay, okay, we see you, Troy. Nice bounce back after some rough starts. 23 points in 31 minutes. Great dunk.

On Morey keeping players: keep in mind that when we lost Covington, etc., you could only have 12 players on the roster. The new CBA moved that to 15 and that's really good for hanging on to developmental players. Now you can have 3 guys who get regular playing time on a D-League affiliate. I think Morey is managing that about as well as you can.

I wish the rules were much more like minor league baseball, and we could sign players for better contracts and not have them snatched away so easily. There should be a greater penalty if you sign a player off another team's D-League roster.

Next year the Rockets can have 17 players on the roster if 2 of them are G-League Two-way contracts. @BimaThug correct me if I misinterpreted that.

Oh that's good to hear. Nice to see the League allowing more players opportunities.

Covington came out of college in 2013. The 2011 CBA already allowed for 15 players.

That is correct. I would not be at all shocked to see Troy Williams on a Two-Way Contract with the Rockets/Vipers next season.

Wrong, we had 15 players then. We foolishly chose a washed up and later waived Fransisco Garcia over Robert Covington. That still makes me spit.

Hindsight is always 20/20. That was our first year with Dwight and we were playoffs or bust so went with a vet instead of an undrafted rookie.

When was I wrong the first time?

Your article is about Covington being the D League MVP of their ALL STAR game, not the entire league..... Covington has been a decent to good perimeter defender but has been less offensively every subsequent season.

Dekker is slumping at the wrong time. Troy Williams might legit take his backup job.

Dekker should revert back to PF for the 2nd team and Troy can get the limited SF minutes that EGo isn't taking up.

Some spot competition would probably be good for helping Dekker break outta that slump too:)

Dekker is doing what he's supposed to do become what Keith Van Horn became.
