I can see us keeping Martin until the trade deadline. That expiring contract is worth a lot. No way in hell do I want Delfino starting over Lamb or Parsons though...
This is rebuilding, no? Mediocrity would be paying $10 million 2-year deal for this guy. I'm assuming much much less?
Me neither, but I don't know if Delfino really impacts that... not like Dalembert did or could have at a major position of weakness last year. If the Rockets truly rebuild, I'm all smiles... but there's just a part of me that does not trust that given their "rebuild without losing" mantra of the past few years.
We should probably just wait and see until the offseason is over. There is more than enough time for significant roster changes to be made. In time everything will be clear and we will know the ultimate direction of the team. I would prefer that McHale play the young guys and just let them grow together.
Trade bait at the deadline. He'll be a good piece for a contender come playoff time. Also, the team does need a couple of vets to teach the young guys how to be professionals.
so our plan B was Carlos Delfino? troll Morey. chill guys. this is good. we're not really deep in guards. he could show the youngsters how to be a PRO. you can't just let Lamb play all 4 quarters and start him right away. he needs to learn some pro tricks.. all of them do. he'll just replace Courtney lee. but he can score better than Lee. think of this as a depth signing. maybe Kmart will be traded soon. we need a center next. I say get blatche, or Kmart and Morris for Tyreke Evans.
I just don't see this Delfino signing being responsible from us going from a 35 to a 40 win team. At the end of the day, if and when martin is traded, we are a 2 guard short and Delfino plugs that hole.
