    This guy could make an okay PG to run the second unit... but adding a 25% 3pt shooter to the mix? That just doesn't make sense at the PG position.

    You do this deal all the way. Automatically improves the scoring of the team by his distribution and lowers turnovers.

    How does that work from a cap perspective?
    It doesn't, unless DM is moving KPap... which would be incredibly dumb to do just to get Rubio.

    Rubio and Llull would be a pretty sweet euro back court.

    Even if we trade for a point like Lowry, Lawson, Rubio, Collison etc, i'd still want to bring over Llull AND bring back Bev, making Llull our backup SG.

    The NBA trade machine says Rubio makes 4.6 mill for the next 5 years? If that's true, then you trade for him just for the financial value alone. His offense is blah but I still think he's a great defender and distributor. Much more proven than Lull. Go for it. 18 and Jones would be a steal if that's what they want. If they want more then it's still probably a good deal.

    When Dwight is injured (or in foul trouble) and James is resting on the bench, who replaces them? Rubio? He's your third star? He's probably gettable, but the cost will be high and cap flexibility will be gone.

    Would we still be able to sign Llull post-Rubio trade? I could get behind a Rubio/Bev/Llull/Harden guard rotation. Good balance of defense, playmaking, shooting. Not a fan of the contract but if Lowry isn't available attaining Rubio WOULD make us better.

    I wonder if we're actually trying to trade the 18 pick and filler for Minny's 31st pick and K-Mart to come off the bench for some scoring? I feel like having the first 2 picks of the second round would be huge for Morey, both for grabbing sleepers or guys who slide, and preserving cap flexability. We could take low risk fliers on two talents with upside, and bolster our bench production which was a weakness at times in the playoffs.
