That seems likely. We have terrible timing. But don't give up hope -- maybe Adleman will decide to take a year off. When he is ready to coach again, maybe we will be ready for him. Adleman would be perfect for our team. As we saw with Artest's amazingly fast and successful integration into the Queens, Adleman is good at adapting his system to his players. Webber and Artest can hardly be more different, yet Adleman was able to bring out the best from both. And the Queens went from having a high-octane offence to being a nasty defensive team, in less than season -- and in the process became the hottest team in the NBA. That is good coaching. On the other hand, JVG likes to force his players into his system. If they don't fit, he throws them out. He could waste the better part of a decade building a team to his inflexible specifications; by then, T-Mac and Yao would probably be past their primes. No thanks. I prefer a coach who can use what we have.
