Rockets should hire Mutombo to coach the new guys.

    Where's Mutombo?

    The Rockets defense has gone downhill, after he got injured. If he can teach the new big men, then a hint of defensive presence would be there.

    I bet that he is still strong enough to put a bruising on Armstrong, Hill, and Jeffries. He could teach these how to rebound and defend. They need to learn the veteran tricks of pushing against the other guys without being called by the refs.

    Seriously, Morey should hire him. What do you think?

    Deke retired and enjoy his life now.
    I dont think he will go to be a coach...

    To be a good coach, your team needs to be able to fully understand you. No one can understand half of what deke is saying.

    Yea you could get Dek to school the youngsters,but then again you would have to get another caveman to translate for him.Maybe one of the Geico guys or something.

    Watching Dek to me was watching greatness.

    .....almost the same as when I was watching Hakeem....

    The only big man coach that Rockets should get is Hakeem. Heck he can even teach the guards a few tricks.

    The league is littered with players that have gone tru Hakeem courses so why not get him to coach here at Houston?

    You can't just hire any beloved player as a coach...
    You guys act like it's so easy.

    You forget that Mutombo has a hospital back home...
    He's been around the game for so long, it's time for him to tend to his family.

    True but Ewing coaches and he's done what I believe to be a good job with Howard. Yet he got chubby not terribly rusty like mutumbo.
