One of those slash brothers is the best thing rox can get at the point. And canann will never be anywhere near on Thomas' level in his time. Toy canann can keep making his mark in the D league.

would LOVE to add a guy like IT. I'd prefer a better starting PG, but IT off the bench solves a lot of problems. IT can score with the best of 'em.

I think it is a better trade if we can have Thomas, he is much cheap, and younger too.

We want to win a championship. We know that the squad we currently have won't get it done.

    Straightforward truth.

DaDakota is sounding a bit like Charles Barkely.

Miami had 2 years. Boston at least had a full year. That's a bit different from recognizing during the current season "hey, this Harden guy is playing like an MVP this year, we better go all in".

    Key word there being "improbable".

I barely understood the question, but the PG rotation was the same in both championship years. Not sure I understand the relevance to 'flipping'?

Coach Brooks was the finisher. Then he wasn't. Sammy, the rook, displaced him.

The 2nd season, the original Jet was the clear cut starter. Then he wasn't. Sammy split the position, closed out games.

Rudy T kept the on-court QB situation fluid. That's all.

I still don't see how that is in any way 'flipping'. You had one new ingredient introduced, Cassell, as a rookie during the off-season. Nothing was being flipped.

It’s also straightforward truth that Thomas has never moved the needle for any team. Kings never won more with him on the team. And Phoenix this season did not improve with him even as they retained their key pieces minus Channing Frye, who hardly helped Orlando himself.

If the Rockets aren’t good enough to win right now, they won’t win with IT either. If the point is to add someone of impact, that’s not Thomas. Thomas is the guy you get when you’re Memphis and just want to add someone for depth.

I think it's two things... Firstly, most of this board do not feel as if this roster as is currently constructed is good enough to win a title. Secondly, most of us expect Moree to make a move. I do think there is an outside shot for us to win the title with current roster, but a trade for a guy like gogi would put us into top 4 status, maybe higher.

This team is not winning a title w/o adding another player that can get his own shot. IT and Goji both have the ability to take over. Come playoff time Harden will be double-teamed and w/o another player that can score and create, the Rockets will once again exit in the 1st round.

    2014 - $7,200,000
    2015 - $6,900,000
    2016 - $6,500,000
    2017 - $6,200,000

even as a 6 man playing 25mins a night this is the perfect contract especially with the cap going up, terry is a expiring & thomas is a idea replacement who will be locked up for 3.5 yrs.

Rockets could've signed both in the offseason. They had Lin's exception and the Kings already said they weren't matching anything.

I wonder if something like this would work:

Houston receives Isiaih Thomas. Washington receives Gerald Green. Phoenix receives KPap, Alexey Shved, NYK 2nd, WAS 2nd.

    Beverley/Thomas
    Harden/Brewer
    Ariza/Brewer
    DMo/Smith
    Dwight/Jones

The bench is obviously terrible defensively, even more so with a Thomas/Terry backcourt.

Might as well get Thomas. Gogi isn't an elite or very good playmaker.

very good scorer. Since when is scoring going to elevate your team to Top 3 or 4 statuts?

Harden as occasional passer isn't going to get it done. Stop seeing Gogi as a playmaker.... he is more about scoring and getting his.

Couger sums it up very nicely....IT or Dragic would help us incredibly. With Thomas locked down for a few years and less than half the price of an aging Dragic, it seems like a no-brainer as far as what gives the team the most flexibility. Really like Dragic....but not for the potential max contract he is going to demand. The combo of Howard's and Dragic's huge contracts would severely hurt the team's flexibility moving forward. Just saw Cyberx posted that the Suns are trying to trade IT to the Rox, so hoping that Morey will pull this one off.

Still, morey doesnt want a contract like his locked up for that long. He is a nice player, but that contract is too long.
