I think aelliott's post above just proved you didn't really watch the other series.

and note to newbies: when aelliott responds to your post, it means you should recheck (or restate) your facts 100% of the time

You're exactly right. What difference does it make if they call a foul the wrong way and give Joel Freeland two free throws when it should have been Dwight Howard shooting two free throws. A potential four point turnaround couldn't possibly matter in a game that ended up being decided 122-120, could it? :roll eyes:

The Beverly phantom technical, the out of bounds call on Howard, the list goes on and on.

The Rockets played well enough to win that series, were it officiated fairly. No, the Rockets did not play well enough to overcome the bad officiating, as many championship teams do. But the Rockets shouldn't have had to. They should have only had to beat Portland. Not overcome a ton of crooked calls.

The NBA wanted to establish Lillard as a hot up and coming star and marketing machine. Harden and Howard are already established so it would be of no benefit for the Rockets to advance. It certainly appeared the refs were calling those games in Portland's favor, because I have a hard time believing they could actually be that incompetent.

Did you ever stop to think that if the refs hadn't stuck it in the Rockets ass all series that it would not have come down to that Lillard 3?

The Rockets are shooting too many threes this season because the increase in threes is at the expense of shots ar the rim and free throws.

Except Terry hit a three on the last possession. So if we waited for a better shot we lose 3 PTs.

This is the typical knee jerk CF post without much thought put into it. First of all the spurs shoot a crap ton of 3s themselves so I don't really understand what you're saying. Secondly Memphis can live without 3's but that's because they have Marc Gasol and ZBO who are both really good post scorers, we don't even have Dwight right now so what do you expect the team to do?

I understand that teams which rely on 3s and nothing else fail in the playoffs but right now with 3 starters out the Rox don't exactly have a choice do you want them to stop taking 3s when it resulted in a 12-3 record? BTW the Lakers and Knicks have bad records and they don't shoot 3's while the top teams like Spurs, GSW, Dallas and of course the Rox take a ton of 3's.

Main thing that costed the Rockets vs POR was crap defense. Lillard's series-ending shot was a microcosm of it. Beverley's health and coaching greatly contributed to the lack of defense. Second biggest problem was Harden sucking on offense. His postseason shooting is already suspect, but McHale's lack of imagination on offense doesn't help.

On second thought, coaching was the main problem. At least we're playing defense this year.

Better than Pappasitos, I think not. Pappasitos can be expensive so maybe El Tiempo is the best value.
