Ariza isn't Parsons and they won't ask him to be. This whole "mulling over whether to match" thing is just so the media won't catch onto the fact that they're holding off just to screw the mavs.

Lol Parsons is sooooo hyped up. These players are on the same level at best. I would not say Parsons is better... Parsons just has the potential to get better.

Just switching those two makes us worse I agree, but if we can sign someone else to go along with Ariza I'd consider not matching Parsons.

He was still terrible at attacking the rim and on the dribble, he could shoot the 3ball, and not much else.

And he was on a ****TY TEAM - I mean as a backup, sure, as a starter, we are SIGNIFICANTLY worse with Ariza instead of Parsons.

Ariza gets flamed for putting up numbers very similar to Parson's when he was with the Rockets, while making 8 mil a year. But for some reasons, people are cool with paying double. If Parsons was forced to be a primary offensive creator, he would struggle far more than Ariza

It'll also make him more agreeable to a trade if hes on the bench.

Ariza was a BIG part of kobe getting a chip. And he brings it defensively. What are we asking of our players outside of the big2? Play lockdown defense and hit your open 3's. Ariza does that. I really wouldnt mind going for Pierce while we are at it. But thats just me.
