Solid contract, exactly what he's worth. I doubt he plays the full length of the contract but nice addition. Now bench. Go get Blatche
Great deal. Wizards has a cheap owner then. I guess Rockets took advantage of Wizard's cap situation. How much cap do we have now???
I'll be the first to say it. Ariza at 8m is better than Parsons at 15+NTC 1st year and trade kicker. We could keep Parsons still though.
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p><a href="https://twitter.com/FreddieP3">@FreddieP3</a> I like Deng more than Parsons. But not more than Parsons, the MLE, the BAE, multiple large trade exceptions and NG'teed deals.</p>— David Weiner (@BimaThug) <a href="https://twitter.com/BimaThug/statuses/487739918135750656">July 11, 2014</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
With all that said, at $8.6mil and declining - not bad. Very tradeable contract and a player who can start at the thinnest position in the league. Hopefully he's coming off the bench and not starting here though. Lin + Asik for Ariza & NO's pick - not bad. But still a downgrade when it comes to on-court performance. We're not a better team. Yet. Hopefully there's more coming soon. Lin + Asik + Parsons for Ariza & NO's pick - failure. Remember, we could have Parsons still, locked into the tiny contract... So don't give me that "he's not worth $16mil" story. If I was Morey though... I would have played my cards the same way. He did the right thing. Didn't work out.
I was saying the same damned thing. My most memorable moment from Ariza was when he screamed the f word really loud during a bad call.
I remember sitting close to the Rockets bench the last time he was on the squad. Don't remember the team around him or the coaching, but he was so disinterested on the bench. I don't see him working with our current young and fun culture led by Dwight. I'm not enthused with the signing...
