PPL keep saying this , if they've truly written off this year then they needed to sell on Howard. Paying a 30 year old declining star the max isnt a great way to start your Big 3. Its even worse if we are full on rebuilding around James.
I believe they tried but didn't get anything close to what they were looking for. Obviously not many takers out there that want to pony up for him at this point. Most likely we had no offers other than taking back negative contracts for a bad 1st round pick. Morey had to keep him...for now. The options of a possible in the off season or just letting him walk to free up the cash for someone else had more value than any offer on the table.
Since we got Joel Anthony from Detroit, it would be so funny if Joel Anthony is on the plan to Houston when this trade to 76ers happend.....
