Just a small snipet from CNNSI: "The Rockets on Tuesday also renounced the rights to forwards Charles Barkley, who retired from basketball in 2000 and has been considering a comeback, and Carlos Rogers." Hate to see Los go. He was a hustler.
Why does this mean Los is gone??? All we did was renounce his Bird rights. We can sign him back. Renouncing to make cap room and signing back is not uncommon.
Crispee, point well taken, but we all knew Carlos wasn't going to be with the team next season for awhile. This is the point that marks his departure. So, we're observing it as a farewell, despite there being a chance (that won't be taken) that the Rocks re-sign him.
Does the renouncing of Barkley hint at a comeback? Why bother renouncing him if he did not count against the cap? Maybe its nothing...
