    It's certainly an exciting day.
We either will get to watch a championship win in the next 2-3 years or we will get to light pitchforks and burn it all to the ground.

The Maloney contract will be an expiring deal in 2025. Minny could use it as an asset that season.

I don't care what you morons think. Losing Eric Gordon will hurt the team, he provides bench points, 3 Pt shooting will hurt the team. The Roster as Constructed has to be built on depth.
If Rockets get more talent from the Wolves I'm fine with it,
Besides Scott Foster, Tony Brothers, Ken Mauer won't let the Rockets win in WCF or Finals.

Can we at least lose last night's Eric Gordon, though? Please?

Plus this offer drives a wedge between what Taylor wants (future interest) and what Thibs wants (now interests).

    Morey is genius.

I doubt they'd include Tyus. Isn't he pretty good?

Bumping for visibility of this important tidbit. Basically the renewed interest is directly a result of having the flexibility to throw those guys in a trade starting on the 31st.

...wouldn’t be surprised if Morey didn’t have this in mind the whole time.

Tyus Jones is a player I'm curious about, He has shown potential. I want more talent from the wolves.

It's worth semi-rebuilding around Paul, Harden, Butler and Capela. Tucker is one of those unbelievable role players, but he and everyone else on the roster is not worth trying to force this experiment this season rather than re-starting a 3-4 year window. Whether we do or don't win, where the hell do we go from here? This roster is unplayable next season. The new core would compete for years, Butler/Harden/Capela would have a minimum 3 year window and even if Paul starts aging heavily, we will be in the stratosphere.

THAT is the kind of team you can surround with minimum signings and 2nd round picks.

If the deal is our 4 picks + Knight and Chriss for Butler - as long as one of the latter 2 picks is protected without conveying (let's say the 2023 is top 14 protected) - then it's fine. The next 2 picks are going to be late first rounders and frankly I've grown tired of how much they get paid, the mediocre talent level available and the low trade value of those picks. Heck if it were possible, I would give Minny FIVE top 20 protected first rounders + Knight + Chriss. That's how little I think late 1sts matter, especially when you come out of it with all the contracts on your books being good contracts. That's the only purpose of a first rounder after all, to dump bad contracts.

We can then deal Gordon for a shooter on an expiring contract and a late pick - to lighten our salary load next season and replenish our picks a bit. Then maybe we trade Tucker in the summer to make further room, if necessary and depending on how he performs.

In reality though, I think we're offering 3 picks. The best package Minny asked for from Miami is worth less than 3 first round picks.

Would Tyus even be playable in the playoffs? Genuinely asking, isn't he very short and kinda mediocre on defense? @BigMaloe
