He actually looks coordinated, Trevor looks awkward like he just started playing basketball this year.
After watching a few highlight, I get a Robert Horry vibe. Decent handles and passing for a big guy. He can also hit the three and drive and dunk. Doesn't look as athletic as a prime Horry though.
Looks like a player we can work with. Give him some Rio Grande time to develop a little bit. Wont be a star but could be a rotation type guy that you can trust. Trevor only has a couple years left so this could be a decent replacement for him down the line. You shouldn't expect much more than a rotation player at this spot in the draft.
Morey learned the hard way from his disastrous Ryan Anderson signing. Probably not a good idea to sign/draft players who are unplayable against the Warriors due to the way they exploit your worst defensive players. Instead, Morey is smartly going for exclusively two-way players -- with emphasis more on the defensive side than offense. With Luc getting hurt, MDA having to play Anderson really killed us in the last few games. That can't happen again. And if Morey can dump Ryno to get a better defensive player (say, Kent Bazemore), we will be in really good shape to beat them once and for all.
How does Vince Edwards game compare to Kyle Kuzma? It looks somewhat similar. I think this could be a sneaky good pick for the Rockets.
This is probably the pick I'm most excited about. Not that he'll make the squad or be good... but if he is good enough to make it, I think then he could contribute. Cause if he's good enough to make it, it means his athleticism is on par and he's ok enough defensively. In an NBA where increasingly being able to have 6'6'-6'10 wings that can hit the three, slash, defend a bit, etc... the Rockets have very few of them, and the ones they do have are old, and kind of underperform in the playoffs. In other words, our forwards suck... i've been saying this.
the rockets have few of them and so does the league. the guys that fit this actual criteria are all typically big money players (pg13, kawhi, lebron etc) and even then some of them are grossly overpaid (covington, porter jr. crabbe, etc) easy to say the forwards "suck" when the realistic alternatives that aren't lebron/pg13 types aren't even much better if even
