Did he really say that? I thought Morris was pretty solid in preseason. Didn't he lead us in scoring in that Spurs game? Either way, this was a long time coming. There is no reason why Morris shouldn't be getting 15 mins a game.
I think Lee and Dragic have equal opportunity to be gone. If only we could do Lee, Hill, T-will and the NY pick for Asik and Brewer. I'm sure it would take more than that, but who knows. The Bulls will lose Asik anyway via FA, so they might as well get expirings role players and a pick for him.
We may as well see what we have. I'm just not sure there are minutes available for him. If he doesn't play, he should just stay with RGV.
At first glance, this seems like it might be leading up to a trade. But keep in mind that: a) we don't need a trade to 'open up a roster spot', as he's already taking up one of our roster spots, even while he's assigned to the RGV; b) we have a series of 5 solid days off after Wednesday's game, opening up some serious practice days with the team; and c) Morris has played in 7 consecutive games with RGV now. If he was going to show some consistency on defense against wing players, he would have showed it by now. Not to toot my own horn (which is exactly what I'm doing), but I saw this move coming in early February: Post Above
The only good thing about Smith's foul prone minutes was that they were rather dumb fouls (or his has the Chief's syndrome from One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest). Don't throw your full momentum directly into a guard close to the perimeter. That's pretty easy to adjust to. He seems like he just needs to shake some of his HS/College play style for the more foul happy NBA.
