Congrats Rockets! You chased away Lowry for Dragic, chased away Dragic for Lin, and now chased away Lin for Beverley and Canaan.

Enjoy Beverley and Canaan at PG, it's what you have wanted, you got it, you deserve it. Always respect people's courage for sticking with their guns, strictly "courage" though... not necessarily "intelligence".

Lin is now off to Lakers where they really need him on offense:
    - Kobe won't be same old Kobe (he'll just be old, coming off serious injuries Kobe)... I wouldn't bet him averaging 20ppg this coming season
    - Gasol is gone
    - Lakers need more than just Nick Young and Kobe to carry majority of offense
    - Who else do they turn to? Randle? He will be considered successful if he can average 15ppg in his rook year... so I doubt Randle will be the vocal point of offense

Lin is not only a luxury for them, they NEED him, esp when they quickly realize the offense flows much better with the ball in his hands (like Rockets often did when the ball was in his hands than iso Harden). They want him. You'll see him averaging 18-19ppg this season to go with 7-8apg. Nash mentoring him? Perfect.

Rockets don't need Lowry, they don't need Dragic, they don't need Lin. What they really need is: appease Harden's appetite to dominate ball (and stagnate team's offense along the way) and be a superstar in his twisted view with 0 authority/ coach having guts to tell him to play the right way, they need Beverley and Canaan. Suit yourselves.
