I don't know about the rest of you guys, but I'm looking at the Rockets future with more optimism now than I have since the Mcgrady/Yao/Artest days. First off we are looking to be a bottom of the league team. Maybe even bottom 5 (Espn has us at 29/30 in the preseason power rankings) That is so amazing. I don't care about winning if all we're going to get to is right around .500 and either miss the playoffs or get the boot in under 6 games. Now we will likely have 3 picks next year in the first round. That's ours (Potentially top 5), Toronto's (I expect them to miss the playoffs once again), And we have the Dallas pick (We'll see how they pan out). If we come out of the season with 2 lottery picks and the loads of cap space we have, things suddenly appear to be very bright. Factor in Lamb/Motie/Parsons/Morris/Lin/Jones/White/Patterson (I expect at least 2 of them to blemish into all stars) Lin will get the all star nod thanks to the voting system, but some of our rookies have a very good chance to to become great players. Maybe I'm just a little over optimistic as I am year-year, but this time it seems different. Thank you for your time. Thoughts?
For the most part, the Rockets control that outcome.... which is why many of us are concerned. I don't think we'll see the Dallas pick this year, though there's still a chance I guess they could finish in the NBA's top 10.
Yeah. Of course some trade to dump both of our picks for some guy that will get us back to mediocrity will happen.
