There was a mention of Daryl Morey job security. No one has job security when a new owner steps in, so I eliminated that from what it could be. Though I still wouldnt be all that surprised. Seems owners get possible buy offers more than we see. All the owner has to do is agree to an offer that looks too good to pass up.
It could mean they received an offer from a buyer. The buyer may be impressed by Morey and wants an extension, before purchasing the Rockets.
