Thanks for sharing man, hopefully they interviewed him extensively to make sure his basketball I.Q is top notch. He would though help teach our bigs a great deal on the defensive end possibly, especially weak side defense down low.

Didnt James Harden have Trina too? Damn, James and Kenyon would really have something to talk about.

JKidd has opened up the flood gates for rookie coaches in league. You don't even have to wait for years like Mark Jackson did, Nash seems like the next guy to make the leap if he has an interest in coaching.

Kenyon would be great for this team. The brothers will respect him like they respect Darko Milicic.

Do the Rockets have anyone on the team with an illness that this dude can make fun of? He seems like a real stand up guy.

Hmmm wow, I am dumbfounded just like everyone else. For one, he wasn't that great of of a post player. Secondly, he wasn't a great shooter. And lastly, is he the best there is out there ?
One thing that he did have was hustle and heart, but those things you can't coach.

Can't say I've ever read or heard anything that would make me believe he'd be a good coaching option or mentor.

It could be similar to the Chauncey Phillips situation though..He came in acting like it was a try out and in the end he was just trying to get a coaching gig.

I looked around a bit, and apparently Martin became a pretty smart player as his career went on. Fans, players, and a couple articles praise his basketball IQ.

I know being a smart basketball player does not always equate to being a good coach, but I don't think people should be so dismissive of Kenyon Martin. Some didn't realize Rasheed Wallace was an extremely smart player when he became an assistant coach.
