Figures that Abbott is a fan of the Rockets, I wasn't surprised by that at all. 1) Blazers and Rockets bear some resemblance to one another in their progressive moneyball approach, and their "nice guy, hard worker, character guys" themes. 2) Abbott's had some "friendly wagers" with Friedman before, right? Seems like the connection is there to the Rockets...

I like the line about the rotating cast of role players. I was watching on youtube a clip with highlights of the 22 game streak the other day. Guys like Steve Novak (The shot!), Bobby Jackson, Luther Head and Mike Harris(!!) were contributing. None of those guys are even with the team anymore, but they had a big part in one of the greatest Rockets memories of all-time...

My second favorite team is the OKC Thunder. I think that team is put together well and will make some noise this year and for years to come. Nice to see (former Rocket) Scotty Brooks getting some recognition and having a chance to teach and coach a young, talented team. I hope he does well.

Maybe because, more often than not, no one expects them to win. If I'm not mistaken, they still live or die by the three-ball, which can make for fun watching... particularly if you don't care whether they win or lose.

Scotty Brooks is diong a nice job with that young team. He also did a good job developing his son Aaron into a pretty good player.
