Not amused by this. And teams don't typically meet with FAs first thing to sign minimum deals..

FWIW, the Rockets and Michael Carter-Williams agreed to a minimum deal on Day 2 last year.

Didn't know that. I guess it makes sense from the team's perspective to know who you can lock in early. But day 2 makes more sense.

I'm getting goose bumps! Javale McGee as a Rocket. How does Morey do it?

It makes perfect sense. Getting certain guys locked in for the vet minimum will help dictate what else you can accomplish under a hard cap. Especially if you know you’re not meeting with your main target (Butler) until Day 2 or 3, it would be stupid NOT to at least try for 1-2 vet min guys immediately.

Veteran Minimum/Vertical Spacing threat for Beard and CP3, who I am sure let Morey know that they wanted Javale. (Fonde Rec Runs sonnnnnnn)

For sure. You can't meet with no one. I'm just wondering why players sign vet mins on day 1. They must know nothing better is coming or really buy in to the situation.

Yeah, that’s the rub. On Day 1, the vet min guys you’re getting are probably not as good as the guys who later have to “settle” for the minimum. But you never know. I’ll let Daryl Morey take his swings.

I wish we could get Rivers back, but sadly that seems very unlikely now.
I would split the NT-MLE on him with Javale, if they would agree to sign with Houston.

I like the Tolliver, Markief, MeGee, Looney, Carrol, Mike Scott, Vonleh, JaMychal Green, Aminu projections and
for Rockets.....but WCS seems too high (not that I want him here).

Brook Lopez looks about right. Too bad we couldn’t get him like Warriors got Cousins last year.

Yes, this is why I posted 60% chance Butler comes to Rockets. It’s one thing to play-tease the fans.....but jerking
the *Rockets franchise, *Boston franchise, players like Capela being moved for you, Gordon thinking he is gone for
you, Rockets lining up meetings for replacements to fill in a roster for you. Rockets must have solid belief.
For him to back out now would be very chicken s###.

But Butler is capable of anything. His name would be mud even more so with the league/players if he plays psych. Gotcha.

*i strongly believe Rockets/Boston have deal ready.

What do you think the deal consists of? I believe a Capela trade should be independent of a Butler acquisition. Have a great day Apache.

McGee made a couple (actually quite a few) comical plays on Shaqtin the fool, but if you look at his abilities comparing To his contract vs Clint’s contract, McGee has better value.
