Banging inside is probably more mental than physical with Mo. Mo was always big for a PF... Adding this weight will make him even less of a rebounder, if he can't get full explosion while jumping for a rebound.
The Chron reported tonight that Mo lost 50 pounds and is at 262, the lowest playing weight he has been at since he joined the Rockets. Rice has also dropped 20 pounds.
thanks for the updates ron, srf, jeff, truth... crisco, I agree the photos are variable. The motion photos have Mo looking so saucceey but that cakeboy photo makes him look really blocky w/ a ton of intramuscular fat. I guess everybody just wears their weight differently. Baker looks like a sharpei, but his arms usually have better definition than Mo's. I guess the chron has clarified things. Now we can get past Mo's weight and jump straight into guessing who's going down w/ a season ending injury before training camp is over. a) Mo b) Glen c) Collier
Is it just me or doesn't he seem to have a lil JELLO in the stomach region? The Rockets logo seems to give off a 3-D effect...
Ah, goodness. Tito, Tito, man; first you get named after the worst of the Jackson Five, then you let your b-ball teammates convince you, "Yeah, tuck in that jersey; now pull it out a bit, like that---Great! Now go take a picture with Ming." Guy makes Shabba Ranks (sp?) look like Denzel.

damn! after listening to kt's interview...damn! he did NOT seem at all happy about what's going on with 1) his contract; and, 2) his potential position change. apparently, the switch to the 3 was not entirely his idea. one thing i did not like was how he referred to "the rockets" as if he were not part of the family. i would have preferred he said "management" or whatever. i'm probably being picky, though.
I don't have a sound card....can someone write a written transcript of what KT had to say on the differences btw playing the 3 & 4.
both nba.com and www.clutchcity.net have Maurice listed at 260, and I very much doubt those numbers got revised this morning after this report. So, I don't see how Feigen thinks we are going to believe Mo is slimmer than ever. that said, I've looked at some more game photos, and I just forgot how puffy Mo's arms always looked. Seems like the variable in Summer weight vs Playing weight for him is his gut and butt, just like Kemp and Barkley. He still looks puffy now, though. What he definitely is not is slimmer like he was supposed to have been last summer before the injury. Last Summer reports were in the 250s, I recall. Here's some game photo's that you can pick off of www.cluthcity.net. and here's some from rockHEAD's site
He sounded annoyed to me. He said something like "Well, thats what the rockets want...they're saying something like that...I don't know...we'll see." Very negative interview. He was looking around everywhere like he didn't want to talk. He seems very upset that the rox haven't offered an extension. He said he only dropped 5 pounds...he's 225. He was 255 when he came into the league 3 years ago.
He said he hopes the Rockets "keep him in the mix". That was a strange interview, I don't know why the Rockets even put that clip on the internet. Anyway, KT is a warrior and will work harder than anyone to prove his worth in this league.
keep in mind that KT is a notoriously bad interviewee. Will made fun of him once even. See Will's second post here. http://bbs.clutchcity.net/php3/showthread.php?s=&threadid=24647&highlight=kenny+AND+interview
after finally getting RM installed, I got to listen to it. Kenny doesn't sound "pissed." He sounded very upbeat about himself. He sounds challenged and sounds like he still believes he's the best PF on the team. His attitude sounded like he was having fun with the reporter, especially the contract part...seems like typical pro player contract politics.
KT just needs to go out there today and prove he can bang with Taylor and EG, run with Nachbar and the slimmed down Rice, and D-up all four. Rudy and the staff will notice, it will make the other players better, and he surely will see plenty of playing time. Boki will probably be limited in minutes somewhat at first and MT misses the first 5 games. KT could be the 4 starter, spelled by EG while he slides to the three. I doubt the Rocks will want EG, Boki and Yao in the game at the same time early on, but I see that happening with time and experience. I would think Rice, KT, and MT will be an anchor while EG and Boki play opposite. With Cato able to give quality minutes as a backup to Yao, we really have a nice 3-4-5 combination. Like MT said, this team is deep 1-12.
