The only suggestion I really have is to keep checking the Rockets.com employment webpage - as a word of warning, I've been around the HR desks a couple times and the stacks of resumes are HUGE - but I know that at least two of our permament employees were hired after being interns from UT - so if you can get your foot in the door that's half the battle.

    Good luck

I think the slogan is PERFECT for Houston as the city is generally full to the brim w/ fair weather fans

    Jeff - you've made a typo - I've corrected it below:

If you want long hours and low pay, sports are your field for employement!

Unless you're 7 ft tall and can walk and chew gum at the same time, in which case the pay can be negotiated.

Can't speak for everyone, but I do it out of love.

True, a lot of us could be making much, much more at another company or industry, but it's a once in a lifetime experience. I left a better paying job and turned down several other offers since joining the Rockets, and I wouldn't trade it for anything.

I agree with blu_monkey. I've received offers for 1.5x what I make now, and have turned them down. Sure 90% of what I do is the same as what any other person working does - but that 10% . .. is special.

RocketKid - I think probably a better way to figure it is that for entry level up to managerial level employees, we make probably 60-80% of what we would at an equivilant position in a non-sports related field.

I like it the new billboards, and the only place im going to see them is in here.

Is that white part going to be part of the billboards? Or are the heads, and Barry's arms going to be sticking out from the top of the billboard? Having the limbs over the frame of the billboard would be cool.
