Brooks in up for extension. Obviously there are issues with him. Some blame health, others site lack of care/commitment. I'm not knocking the side I'm not on.

Flynn is under contract for one more year before being restricted, which is something Morey looks at. Also, calling it lateral if it's for Brooks... Not really. Not compared to the 2010-2011 Brooks.

I'd do this deal if it's the best offer for AB because there is little reason to think AB is back and happy next season with this team.

Keep dreaming that dream - as terrible as David Kahn is, he'd be absolutely insane to give up Kevin Love.

Still, that would be nice, wouldn't it?

as a georgetown student, i can tell you that jonny flynn has the potential to be a top 10 starting PG, as much as i hate to give a cuse player credit. he torched many big east defenses, just like our boy klow7 did.

kid's got great vision, though his assist numbers don't accurately reflect it, and he's got a knack for creating his own shot, something this team could use.

i'm not ALL for this trade, but honestly flynn would likely be an upgrade over lowry within the next two years.

Man... if its Flynn straight up for Brooks... Its a head scratcher. I dont doubt Morey and there has to be more in this deal if the trigger is pulled.

The triangle aspect of your analysis is dead on. He is farrrrrr from a triangle PG. He needs to be pushing tempo like Kyle Lowry...

That said, He shot a respectable 36% from 3 in his rookie year. He has been injured this entire season, so 36% is the accurate measure.

I'd say that is pretty dang good.

He gets it up to 38-40 and he becomes elite... I think he has the potential to be an excellent shooter...

Lot of truth here. Worth a read again! Especially the part about the "contract status."

Gerry McNamara also lit up Big East defenses while at Cuse.

He's a "career" 34% shooter from downtown. That's average at best.

But yeah, there's definitely potential and he'll need to improve in that regard. Especially whenever he projects to be an awesome penetrator -- gotta have that J the defense respects enough not to "Rondo you".

Ugh. You'd do this deal for a lack of better options? We'd be getting bent over in this deal. This would be Morey's worst deal yet.
