It really depends on who we traded. CP3 is going to LA one way or another, whether we like it or not. If getting into the mix helping us improve the team (hopefully it's Scola->Pau), then why the hell not?
Amen.... Fans if we gave up Bud or K-Mart.. Would you want Odom? Think about it... Size matters right?
My apologies. B-R.com has weird info. Even better! Gasol has just as much mileage on his body as Gasol. He also played every summer for Argentina.
If only Yao were healthy, a Yao / Gasol front court would be devastating for opposing teams. As it is, if we're trading Lowry + Patterson + picks....I dont know, I just dont know....Its not that Gasol is not worth that, he is, but he's 31....And a starting squad of Dragic, Martin, Bud, Scola, Gasol may be the softest starting lineup of all time !
But I doubt it's a straight up swap. Picks are going to be involved, valuable picks that we need to rebuild with.
With Gasol this team becomes a nice playoff team right away and hopefully we still have C.Lee here to attract his boy D.Howard
L.A Knows CP3 is coming"Shannon Brown will sign a one year, $3.5 million deal with the Suns, league sources tell Y! Sports."
Gasol has proven to be weak-willed and has established that he has no interest playing on a small(er) market team or being the leader and/or most-talent player on a team. No thanks. Bynum is a whiney wimp who lives with his mommy and he is a dirty player with no heart. Not to mention that he is injury prone and a waste of talent and size. No thanks. Both of them will effectively gut our roster of hard-wroking, talented, classy and underpayed players who fit our city perfectly and come at a discount. In addition, they will both block the development of other players on our roster. No thanks.
If the Rockets get Pau, it's back to win now mode. Just don't add contracts beyond Pau's. Handing the starting position to Patterson is a big risk in a win now situation. He was a poor man's Carl Landry last season. From memory he was sub 40% in post up situations, sub 50% at the rim. His overall FG% was very high but mostly inflated from open jump shots/face up situations where he was not fouled a single time.
If this gets done, then its a complete revamp with a team that can contend for the playoffs while still shedding some cap for 2012. Whats not too like??????
PAU + MARC GASOL, thats the reasoning. Regardless of Pau's age that would be a killer frontcourt. BROTHERS OF DESTRUCTION.
We're giving up a PG because that is what the Hornets are giving up and that is what they want. He's the price to sit down at the table, if you will. It is going to be tough to replace Lowry (I'm having post Barkley-trade flash backs already of Eldridge Recasner, Matt Maloney, Bryce Drew...), but, not as hard as it is to replace Center. Also, a front court of Gasol and Scola (esp. if backed up by Hayes for toughness), is Playoff level. Then imagine Donatas backing up and learning the NBA ropes from Scola and Pau -- too perfect. And at the point, it looks like there is going to be some serious Amnesty activity with Billups and Delfino that Houston can bid on...plus, it will give the Rockets the opportunity to unleash the Dragic.
Why would NO prefer scola to gasol lol...thats stupid... I guess La will be giving gasol and two first rounders...we give what i dont know...this one is hard to figure out
