Nothing to see here. Hot rumor has died down now, teams were talking (throwing around ideas) and nothing looks to have stuck.
In this regard, I hate twitter. If we didn't have everyone tweeting reports from their non-existent "sources" then none of the chaos would be spread over here.
lol...this is not a joke, its a business. i still think hornets will trade cp3 to boston for rondo/green.
Yeah, we're definitely missing something. They wouldn't be that hellbent on trading him out of the division would they? Surely that would be preferable to creating a new dynasty in LA.
Some people need reminding: Kevin Martin was traded for former second round pick Carl Landry. Luis Scola was traded for Vasillis freakin Spanoulis. Yes they are very nice players, but they are also completely expendable, and more importantly, Morey has proven that he can reproduce these results. Heck we are not even talking about IMO the best player on our team, Kyle Lowry who we got for Rafer freakin Alston. On the other hand, top players in the league with pedigrees like Gasol(former 3rd pick) do not come by so easily. So the question you should be asking isn't whether Gasol is worth Scola + Martin(imho yes btw). The question you should ask is whether Morey can continue to wave his wand and bring in more Scola/Martin caliber players to fill out the roster around Gasol. The answer is YES.
They won their championship with Bynum essentially out, and Pau dominated the **** out of the Celtics...
stevekylerNBA Steve Kyler Don't assume initial Hornets talks were for Pau Gasol... assume discussed framework included Bynum which is a non-starter for the Lakers.
I like the idea a lot better with just deal with LA. Chris Paul to LA would have pissed off a lot of people. If we could Pau for Scola and some other pieces outside our starting lineup (Patterson/Dragic, a pick) I'm down for that. Lowry, KMart and Gasol would be a very competitive team, and Gasol would be excellent in the development of Montiejunas.
