I wouldn't mind this at all actually. My biggest complaint with this trade is that we'd be sending two 2nd options (Martin and Scola) for one (Gasol), not to mention any picks or Patterson. If we get Gasol and can keep Martin I'd like it, especially if we sign Nene.
No matter what, if we're giving up Scola AND Martin, we're giving up too much. Just parting with one for Gasol should be enough. Other throw ins are fine, but as far as I'm concerned with Hayes gone Lowry, Scola, Martin, and Patterson define our team and giving up two for a declining player is absolutely not worth it. As someone mentioned earlier back in this thread, if Morey thinks giving up both is not a lateral move then he is smoking some serious stuff.
People need to stop overreacting until something has happened. Don't put faith in the likes of Broussard. Whose just saying what he thinks will happen. If anything they only know that teams are talking and have no idea what's in the works.
I think the only reason K-mart is in these talks is because of his contract. If we shed his $10 million off the books that's enough to find a real Center.
Wer did all this love 4 Martin come 4rm I can understand Scola he's done alot 4 dis team but Martin he hasn't been wit us dat long plus he's injury prone 2
The Lakers don't want to give Bynum up, Hornets want good players, young talent and picks for CP3, Rockets step in and facilitate. They hold the leverage in that scenario.
Yeah, true, but we should not give up the farm for him - especially since it basically kills our ability to amnesty any large contract. DD
What team? And for who? The good thing about Pau is that he could bring us some elite talent that Martin/Scola can NOT!
even with a line up of Lowry Lee Budinger/Morris/Williams/ Pau Free Agent Center would we really win a title? i mean isn't that the goal? yeah we may make the playoffs and make some noise but i don't think we'd be good enough. pretty much the teams that have been competing are the ones that got really lucky in the draft and drafted a superstar. i hate this but i really feel like we should tank this season.
These are good too. BTW, does anybody find it strange ESPN hasn't even mentioned this yet? I only see a mention in a tweet by Broussard, normally something like this would warrant at least a short blurb in ESPN LA.
Nothing is finals, everything is rumor right now. If it's true though then the Rockets have all the leverage in this deal seeing as how the Lakers need them to make the deal. Morey with leverage is a dangerous thing...
