If it's Martin and Scola for Gasol, I think we come out ahead. But why would you offer picks? If the Bees want our draft picks or prospects, we should tell them to get lost.
Compared to the superteams that are now being built that is NOT a contending team..sorry. Hand delivering CP3/Howard to LA on a silver platter is going to bury this team in the Lakers' shadow for years to come.
I don't understand why we won't just cut out the Lakers and deal for Paul ourselves? Get Paul. Get Howard. ??? Profit.
Do we forget Pau Gasol who could not do much thing when he was in Memphis? Bynum? He would be worser than Gasol, could be out of NBA sooner than Yao Ming. I prefer to keep cheap Scola, and add another good role player for this year.
The Pistons. If you have a good player at every position and they play well as a team you CAN win a championship.
I really do not want to give up Martin in that trade. Lowry, Martin, and maybe Lee should be the untouchables of this team if we're getting Pau.
I really think Morey is fed up with the stars hand-picking their teams so he's going all-in on the Pistons model. And maybe we'll get lucky enough to find a top ten player by trading up in the draft. I can't say I blame him.
Let's trade it all we have for a declining 31 year old PF who's got a ton of miles on him. That's how you retool - 1 declining star player and 4 #1 picks from the worst draft of the decade. The Heat/Celtics/Bulls/Lakers/Thunder/Knicks/Mavs all have to be scared.
I believe the player's agency, CAA, is pulling all the strings. They want to see cp3 on one of the glamour teams.
We are nothing like the pistons, they were also a defensive juggernaut, the Rockets would be soft given this trade.
I find it very hard to believe that the Hornets will opt to take on salary that will put them into luxury tax if CP3 leaves. As for the Nene rumor. I'm just not a fan of the guy's game.
