Why interview this guy?

He was the Nuggets coach, failed there.
He went onto Air Force for a couple of years and did well but then failed at Colorado. Somehow got the Wake Forest job and failed there too.

I just keep reading "likely candidate", but I'm not sure what that exactly means. Is it done, or people just guessing.

Also, let's suppose things are D'Antoni actually listens to him. Is he actually good? Yes when he was with the Grizzlies they played good defense. But before that his record/history is more of a mixed bag.
