Jordan Hill benefited from some consistent playing time and coaching. McHale doesn't seem to be very good at player development.
It's funny. Because none of that happened when Chuck was playing for us. He usually shutdown his man and was a beast on the boards, especially offensively.
Actually, it did. That's not to mean that he didn't do admirably for a 6'6 center and his defense is stellar when he gets someone that isn't too big for him, but there were times where the bigger centers in the game were just too much for him. He's probably the ultimate tweener, height of a SG, build of a PF, game of a C.
Not my first choice when it comes to former Rockets but he would be a nice backup center option and decent defender to help replace Asik.
Excellent 15-20 minute guy and good enough to be a starter for times where Dwight is out for a few games.
I was just thinking this the other day Morey always said they were perfect teammates to play with 2 all stars So now that we traded all of them to get howard and harden Morey will get all of the role players back Morey always said he could see jordan hill playing alongside dwight
Yes! Get Chuck Hayes and bring back the 'goon squad'. I would say bring back Brooks again but I don't think we'll resign him for a 3rd time.
Out of those 5 I would only want Ariza, Lowry and Hill back. Bud is too injury prone (sadly) and Landry just hasn't been the same. Plus, he only played 18 games last year for the Kings.
This team as currently constructed can benefit greatly with the addition of Ariza and Hill. If hill was on the team last season Aldridge wouldn't have killed us in the playoffs and Ariza being able to guard the 2&3 positions would've taken pressure off Harden. As long as the price is right I'd welcome the acquisition of both guys
You remember his defense incorrectly. Post defense was his specialty, even against the biggest centers in the league. Bothered Bynum, Gasol, Aldridge, even Shaq. The problem was that he couldn't provide any help defense against pentrating guards. Other than sliding over and taking a charge he was helpless, unable to provide any rim protection. But but throwing the ball into the post against him was a bad option, even Phil Jackson admitted as much.
