lets do it, we need as much bench depth as we can right now and you never say no to a sharpshooting wing on a cheap contract.

This. I love what Parsons brings to the table but not at the max r u kidding me? Going all in is for stupid people, teams like Brooklyn and the Mavs go all in and look where it got them. Smart teams like the Spurs keep a balance between cap, contention and youth and they become competitive every year. Let's get one of the best shooters in the NBA at a bargain price instead CP at the max lol.

Except he has both a player termination option and trade kicker which increases his salary by 15% if you trade him. We missed out on our 3rd star Goran dragic because of the trade kicker, you want us to both grossly overpay AND give parsons the kicker? Lol

In the new CBA the team trading away a player covers his trade kicker. So Les Alexander would be the one paying for this 15% bonus. Not a detriment to his trade value.

We let Goran go, it had nothing to do with a trade kicker. The Rox simply did not want to give him a player option, even though they gave one to Dwight a year later.

    That is 100% on Morey.

It's hard to defend DM on that one. Goran would sure look good in a Rockets uniform now.

Giving a player option to Goran is in no way comparable to giving one to Dwight

Howard is a superstar and Dragic is a Good player. Big difference. Get over it.

I'm not sure Nick Johnson won't edge out Troy Daniels in the rotation. Needs to be a low salary.

Not many teams have three stars that have been willing to take paycuts to keep the team competitive, and three stars who seemingly had no desire to play elsewhere. Not many teams have a hall of fame coach either. This Rockets team, as it stands now, has no choice but to go all in and see what happens. Bring Daniels and Parsons back and get a backup center, and along with that Ariza signing, we'll have good depth, which is one thing this team lacked.

Being competitive every year is fine, but I'll trade that for a championship any day.

There are two guard positions on the bench and you need 4 players in that rotation. Since Harden plays point guard nick can play beside him. Nick also plays defense like Wolverine so you would never put Harden and Daniels out there for long periods of time. Although, you might do it for the final shot of the game. You can also have Daniels and Johnson out there at the same time or you could have the super D back court and have Wolverine and Baby D (Nick Johnson) out there.

I get what you're saying but if Dallas offered Kawhi Leonard 3 years for $46 mill, you don't think the Spurs would match? If so, there's nothing smart about that.

Same here. I know he was a playoff hero and he can shoot well, but it doesn't mean we need to bend over backwards to keep him.

Probably already been said, but I think:
    Ariza+ daniels + dunleavy >> parsons
At least for a good coaching staff

    Was it really just that?

Maybe there was also a little "revive-my-Chinese-money-connections" going on with Les?
