Turkey defeated Ukraine on Sunday (72-64). It was Asik's second game this summer. Asik's score: 2Pts, 1/1 2Pt in 6:43 Min. http://www.kss.rs/Vesti/Avgust%20slike%202013/Trofej%20Beograda%202013/Turska%20-%20Ukrajina.pdf
Omer is playing right now against the Czech and it is half time. He didn't play that much he not even started. 4pts(1/1FG; 2/4FTs), 3reb and 1stl. His team defense didn't look that good to me but his 1on1 D is terrific and he did a really good job on close out on a three pointer. And most shocking thing for me was his FG! It was not on a OReb. He got the ball at about 10-12 feet and took a jumper with a lot of time on the clock. He took it with a lot of confidence and it seems like he worked on it.....
Home games are more fun to watch. That image of Turkish Airlines taking off on the courtside ad display is both freakish and cool. Hope to see Omer in 4th Q.
Only saw a few minutes of the Turkey game... Omer Asik wasn't all that impressive in the small sample I saw. Hedo actually looks pretty good.
Nothing special in the 2nd half. Omer started the 3rd quarter and did not show up in the 4th. Score one time in a PnR situation and grabbed 3 rebounds i guess. So he should have 6pts, 6reb and 1stl in limited minutes. Maybe it is because i didn't see him for a while but he looked stronger to me...

A surprisingly close game. Turkey has a lot of past and present NBA players of which some are stars. They are also a tall setup. Of the Czech team, other than Vesely, only Satoransky rings a bell. But, yes, it's interesting to follow the EuroBasket circuit just before the pre-season games get started in the NBA. It gives some indication where the foreign players are in their conditioning.
I don't if he's a center or forward or even ethinic Turkish, but Enes Kanter is the best player from team turkey and dumbass Corbin needs to give him more PT.
