@BenDuBose: Stephen A. Smith says the Rockets are "on the verge" of formally hiring Hakeem Olajuwon. Didn't say what official role would be. Hmm.

Well, we need a third string center...

Or maybe a special assistant coach teaching post play and how to fockass on the court.

Should hire Yao too, but he's too busy with China unfortunately :(

I want him to be a vendor and sell dream shakes. Why hasn't he been more permanent for this organization before? Was his training of players all he wanted?

Yeah, he just said it on Sportscenter a little while ago. Part 2 of his interview w/ Dwight is airing on SC in a little bit.

JVG was only able to hire Ewing for Yao Ming. Les is getting more serious with Howard.

it really is. Glorious red and yellow uniforms are the next step.

    my other selfish wishes:
JVG joining the local broadcast team
hiring yao as chairman of all things basketball abroad.
    Techno music starting lineup.
Mario or Sam as assistant coaches.

How unbelievable would it be if Lin Harden Parsons T Jones Donatas asik Howard Smith all applied the dream shake in every game. That's dream shaking in the high post, post, backcourt, front court...

    Teams would become incredibly frustrated!

Smart move by rockets.. I'm sure Hakeem becomes Ineligible to work with other players/teams now depending on the contract.

It will likely be in an ambassador-ship and consultancy role, with some individual coaching involved...much like the roles Biggio and Bagwell have with the Astros. Hakeem primarily lives in Jordan and that isn't likely to change.
