He should have his name legally changed to "Dikemb E. Insurance"

All right, this may be a dumb question but how do you create a roster spot by trading one player for another one? This obviously is not a 2-for-1 trade and no one was waived.

Maybe they traded Exception for Tskalidis and then Memphis traded their own exception (or cash or something) for Padgett?

In order to take on a player.. they had to get rid of a player. Instead of waiving him they gave Scotty to Memphis.

It's fine. If something happens to Mutombo during the next month, we have a warm body, which means we are slightly better than we were this morning.

He had a strech 2 years ago tearing the world apart in his own away.

Not bad for a 3rd string player and he is probably going to have a big game once every blue moon.

Now what baffles me, of the spots, why did we trade for another slow center? Yao's coming back soon.

    Possible post-deke plan?

If that's the case, Jake is going to be here for awhile. You better learn to like him.

Because it's only 4-5 weeks of minutes for the player we acquire. And the # of minutes he plays can be trimmed when we play teams without a true big (if we go to the Hayes or Howard at the 5 lineup).

So we're not talking about a huge # of minutes...and we're talking about almost no minutes once Yao is back. It seems like the perfect situation for developing an unproven guy to take the reigns from Deke after next year

look at it this way... at least we didn't lose anyone of importance to the team. We still have Luther, Bonzi, Kirk, Rafer... ok.. well at least Luther, Bonzi, and Kirk.
