Still puzzles me why people still doubt Morey...I promise he knows more about building a team than you do. If he’s after someone who stats don’t jump off the board, I just assume that Morey believes that that player is either in the wrong situation or being used incorrectly.........Morey should have earned the benefit of the doubt with all of us by now. At least
I really like James Ennis! He is a buy low, hope he pans out kind of guy. Only shot 30% from 3 last year but was playing on a team with poor spacing last year. in fact, he's played on teams with poor spacing his whole career. I really believe coming here would see him shoot 35%+ from 3 and you can play him as a 3 and a small ball 4. He's a solid defender with great positional versatility. A solid switcher who can switch on to 2's, 3's, and 4's comfortably. Out of the 3 guys listed as cheap possibilities, I hope he is the one we get! He is only 28 years old, so he fits in with our core well!
6-7 in shoes with a 6-11 ½ wingspan - Source: http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/James-Ennis-41434/ ©DraftExpress Also looking at his full numbers from last season and his career shows a better 3 point shooter.
Another high energy guy like Booker...i think he wasn't bad when he played against us for Memphis but like others said i didn't watch him enough to judge.
Honestly, I have never entirely trusted Morey's ability to select talent, primarily because he has never played basketball. I'm not saying he hasn't made good decisions, but he is no Donnie Walsh. Morey is certainly better than CD was, and is a good GM, but he is a fairly conservative evaluator.
I like Morey, yet I still think things are worthy of doubt... Joey Dorsey, Terrence Williams, Jonny Flynn, Jeremy Lin, Ty Lawson, Alexey Shved.... Morey makes mistakes, as he is human. And this particular year, every dollar matters. Everything is amplified.
That is a really weird usage of stats. You don't even use his whole season numbers but just the short stent after the trade deadline. He's a career 35.9% three point shooter and 81.1% from the free throw line. He's a decent shooter. Not a big fan of defensive stats that are available, but he doesn't hurt you on that end.
Chris Paul, James Harden, Clint Capela, Trevor Booker, James Ennis, and resign the one and only, the great legendary Downtown Bobby Brown BIG 6!! It's Happening!!!!
A 3 is a 3.. who cares who shoots them? Good Defense is Good Defense... Ariza can be replaced Waayyyy cheaper than 15 million.. You can get that same game 7 production for under 5 million..
