It did. Fertitta cut him so he wouldn't have to guarantee him $1.7 million by September 21. He is a brokish owner but this pandemic made him a complete ..... Any other team could afford that bargain contract for a big like Hart. ...
his guaranteed date isn't until October. stop posting false information. your posts didn't make any sense
I'd care more about this if I actually believed the NBA could viably return soon, but when it does return, oh Lord, hear my prayer....let the Rockets acquire a really tall dude who can plays great D and who shoots from range on O.
Maybe you need to extend analogy further and make it akin to having an AK47 and a howitzer. But the tactics we have decided to employ is guerrilla warfare, hit and run, due to enemy's army is bigger and better plus more artillery. Then our howitzer becomes a liability due to lack of mobility. Howitzer would need to be abandoned to prevent being overrun by superior enemy forces. Space and pace is our guerrilla warfare, forcing opponents to play against their own strengths and play to ours.
he didn't save anything that's what you don't understand. what are you exactly saving on a non guaranteed deal. then signing Nwaba, a player with guaranteed money who isn't even playing lol
Your analogy might work if they are replacing the howitzer with a more powerful AK47. Until then, keeping the howitzer at the base handy in case the base is attacked would be more reasonable than burning the howitzer for no reason. Again, why insist on playing small ball ALL THE TIMES? This is the same thing about shooting the 3 ALL THE TIMES. I get it that the 3 is more efficient than the midrange. I get that you try your best to create 3pt shots. But if you tell everybody that you are NEVER going to shoot the midrange, then the defense has a big area they do not need to defend. Harden's ISO may be the most efficient play we have. But if you tell everybody that we are going to run NOTHING other than Harden ISO, the opposing team is going to game plan to stop that. And we don't have any other options. That why 2 dimensions > 1 dimension. Do you not agree?
I just don't think that he is ready to provide us that kind of diversity right now. If someone's killing us inside and small ball is just not working, IMHO, Hartenstein isn't even good enough yet to stop the bleeding in a single game. Let alone in a playoff series. He is neither a handgun nor an AK... yet. You're right that his ceiling may be high, but we probably don't have time to wait to see if he can get there, and he won't get the PT to get there in Houston, anyway. If the Westbrook experiment is going to get us a title, it's probably going to happen within the next year or two, and I don't see Isaiah being a very useful rotation player in that time frame. Again, especially with the kind of PT he would get here. Maybe I'm wrong, and maybe there are games where 20 minutes of Hart would be enough to get us over the hump. But I don't see it. Not yet, and certainly not consistently. And hell, maybe it was partly as a service to him to get him somewhere that could regularly give him the minutes he just might deserve.
May be more feasible to find better snipers, or improve camouflage than invent a more powerful AK47. Howitzer at a guerilla camp is worthless. Hit and run tactics require that camp is final fallback option, when war is lost. Rockets are trying to win. More AK47s are more valuable than a howitzer or two that more than likely will not be used. I agree that 2 or 3 dimensions are better than 1, wholeheartedly. Iso, 5 out, get out in transition/early offense, pick and roll are still offensive options for Rockets. And these are high efficiency options. Inside-out, low post, half court big man centric offense is low efficiency for Rockets. Especially if depending on inexperienced player/aged player that are also liability on defense. You win by being true to yourself, doing what you do best. Rockets are average/below average playing big but are elite playing small. Beyond elite at times.
What is the obsession with Hartenstein. There are fallacies about him in this very thread... No he is not a good shooter No he is not a good defensive fit at switching No he is not a good defender He rebounds well and hustles.... But at a huge cost. There is a reason he went unclaimed. Morey tried to trade him at the deadline without success.
What is the obsession with many scrubs on here? Terrence Williams, Isaiah Canaan, Donte Greene, KJ McDaniels, Gary Clark, Isaiah Hartenstein, Donatas Motiejunas, Bruno Caboclo, on and on and on...one scrub to the next.
If we were facing a situation where we needed a big man, presumably to slow down someone elses, and that other guy is top tier, then how effective would someone with Iharts skills be? If the guy we put in there cant stop the other guy, all we have done is made it easier for the other team to defend that position on the other end. Effectively, exchanged a shooter for a non-shooter. Dont see how that helps. If we had the luxury to have top tier defensive bigs sitting and waiting on the bench, then ok. But we dont and never will with the payroll unflexibility we have.
He’ll end up going somewhere getting some minutes and balling, just like Gary Clark did with, uh.....who does Gary Clark play for again?
Don’t call the X Factors scrubs each one of the payers mentioned was going to lead us to another level on the down low. One must believe in magic or they are just rubbing to sticks together; remember fire is possible and almost probable if one never stops believing. The “next” one in our savor.
